Introduction
A couple of days ago the extension Zillow to Excel was removed from the Chrome store.
Removals from the Chrome store are unfortunately necessary when an extension does not seem to be working as expected.
If you were a user of Zillow to Excel, I believe that as long as you do not remove the extension from your Chrome browser, you should still be able to use it. However, new users will not be able to find it on the Chrome store nor install it.
What is Zillow to Excel?
Zillow to Excel is a Chrome extension that allows you to export data from Zillow into Excel. It used to do exactly what Zillow Data Exporter does except that Zillow Data Exporter actually works.

Zillow to Excel was one of the competitors of Zillow Data Exporter with around 4000 users. Unfortunately, the extension Zillow to Excel was no longer maintained and its rating had sunk to a low level of 3 out of 5 stars on the Chrome store.

Why was Zillow to Excel removed from the Chrome store?
Unfortunately, it is very hard to say why this extension was removed in the end.
In my opinion as an experienced developer, I would say that the extension Zillow to Excel had a few issues:
- The extension was no longer maintained.
- The users were not happy
- The extension was working only 20% of the time.

Ultimately it is impossible to say what made Google remove the extension. Maybe the developer did not want to continue maintaining the extension and decided that fixing the issues were not worth it. It is always possible that the extension will be re-added to the Chrome store in the future and should that be the case, I will update this article.
